After discussing with my peers the idea of my teaser trailer, I decided to go along with idea 2, however I felt that the concept of it was a big idea and was something that was getting complicated and a big idea to achieve, considering I only have a small budget and my teaser trailer will be something that is more iconic of a independent film rather than a mainstream Hollywood production.
I have decided to keep the object of a diary as my inspiration and play around with the diary being the main focus. The narrative of my idea is a girl has kept her diary her whole life. She keeps seeing a guy around that she is slowly falling for and as she's getting older she starts writing diary entries about the guy and how she likes him. Usually the guy doesn't acknowledge her and often just walks past her without even looking at her. The girl is out one day, taking a walk around her village and she sees the guy out in the distance, where she hopes she can talk to him, but again he just walks past without acknowledging her. While out on her walk she sits down to write another entry, however she soon sees that some of her entries have been ripped out. When she later returns home she sees that there is a letter waiting for her with some of the missing entries in with a note taunting her that someone knows her secrets. She also sees that there are quotes from her diary entries being posted online and the next day sees that they have been posted up at school. The girl feels humiliated as the guy she has started to fall for has also read the diary entries. Upset she runs back home, where later in the day, the guy turns up at her house, where he admits that he likes her too and they both end up spending the rest of the day together and they eventually end up being happy together.
My teaser trailer will only be short and therefore I need to break down my idea into smaller bits, so that its easier to portray the story within my teaser trailer without including all of the above. Below I have broken down my idea to show the bits that will be used within my trailer:
-Shots of the diary, will closely look at some of the pages and what she has written
-The girl writing in the diary
-Girl out at in her village, where she sees the guy she likes, but the guy doesn't acknowledge her
-Writing in her diary about the guy she's just seen and noticing pages have been ripped out of her diary
-Girl returning home to the letter of some of the diary pages with the note
-Shot of girl at school with quotes of her diary posted up on the walls with the guy reading them
-Girl returning home humiliated and upset
I think that although the points I have listed seem fairly simple, I think that the way in which they will be put together will work well and also with having titles up within my teaser trailer will help to get the narrative of my trailer across the viewer.
