Ideas for Magazine cover

This is an idea I have produced for my magazine cover which I hope to get audience feedback on to get suggestions and ideas from the feedback I get. So far this is my only idea as I have drawn out an idea that includes many of the conventions on for a magazine front cover, but I still need to research into other styles of magazines. This initial idea, I feel could have great potential and is also very conventional for most typical magazine front covers that are already out there.

Ideas for Poster

These are 4 of my ideas for my film poster that I have come up with. I feel that all 4 could have potential to work and I could even develop them by mixing some of the ideas I have together. I am going to get audience feedback on these 4 ideas as at present I am unsure as to which idea my target audience will like and I think that all 4 could work effectively. I have come up with a strapline that I also think works well with the idea of my trailer and the poster, which I again would like to ask my target audience for feedback on as I have two possibilites of; "where your secrets lie" or "where your secrets live."

Soundtrack Pro progress

So far I have been working on Soundtrack Pro trying to produce a soundtrack that will work with my teaser trailer and to create something that sounds like it is dramatic and has the 'thriller' side to it. I am finding using it this year is a lot easier than expected as I already had some knowledge from my previous year which is helping me progress my skills this year. I am finding it easier and quicker to find sounds and instruments that could work with my teaser trailer and am also finding it easy to create layers to my soundtrack and overlapping what I have to make it have a flow and smoother rythm to it. I have so far made something that I think has the potential to work really well and have played it alongside my teaser trailer so far and there are some minor timing issues that can be resolved and sorted. I have also got some audience feedback which the mojority think that the soundtrack could work well if I make the changes necessary.

Progress on Live Type

These are the titles I have produced on live type. I thought about the wording carefully as it needs to go with my teaser trailer and make sense. I have kept the titles fairly simplistic, although I think the font may be too much with all the titles in the same font. Therefore I thought I could adjust it so that it is only the name in this font. I will make sure I import this into Final Cut so I can see how it looks with the rest of my trailer first before I make more adjustments to the font and titles.

Final Cut

These are some screen shots from my working progress so far using Final Cut to produce my teaser trailer. This is my second time using Final Cut as I previously used it in year 12 to produce the opening of a film. So far I am progressing well with using the programme and have remembered all the resources and tools I have used from last year. I think it would be a good idea if I experimented and developed my skills by using more and different transitions, as well as trying to edit some of the clips my editing the lighting or putting filters over the top to see how this affects the footage that I have. The bottom screenshot shows a bit of the clip of the diary used within my teaser trailer and the extreme close up focusing on just a few of the words. So far, it has worked well and looks good where some of the shots zoom in and out. I will be getting some target audience feedback over the next couple of weeks so that I can make any amendments and changes I need to, to make it better and to appeal to my target audience.
I firstly started putting my clips together and putting them into a rough order by selecting all the clips I thought could work well and placing them on the lines. I then went through and chose the clips that were the best quality and cut down the timings so that I only had the parts of the clips that I wanted. Next I put the clips into a rough order and then added simple transitions to make the footage flow better and so I could see a rough idea as to what it was looking like when put altogether. I still need to add in and consider the text within my trailer, which I have already had some practice with on Live type and made some fairly simplistic titles which could potentially be added into my teaser trailer. A factor I need to make sure I remember is that this is a teaser trailer and they normally last around 30- 60 seconds, which at the minute I have a lot more footage and the timings is above 1 minute, but when I have my audience feedback I am hoping that it will allow me to make the changes and make sure that my timings are correct.
Another factor I wanted to make sure I got right was the lighting as this was something that I had trouble getting right last year. So far the lighting of my footage has been fine with the lighting and it is all clear enough. There is just one section with the girl within my footage that is considerably darker, but there is something about it that I think personally it could work really well. However, I again will wait until I get some of my audience feedback before I decide on whether or not that footage will be included or if it will need to be changed.
