Week leading up to filming
As the week leading up to filming is approaching there are a few last things that I have potential worries about. The lighting is an important factor as I don't want my clips to be too dark, which is a problem I had a bit of trouble with in my previous work. I need to make sure I choose sensible times of the day (which I have stated in my call sheet) so that it isn't too dark. The weather will also play a part as it could hold out on the days that I have chosen to film on, especially if it is dark and rainy, this could again affect the lighting conditions.
Call Sheet
This is the call sheet I have produced and given to both my actors so that we all have a clear idea of when we all need to meet and where. The call sheet is an important document that will give the actors all the information they need about their costumes and props and also their locations. I have listed the dates that we will be meeting as well as the shots we will be filming. I have also included the times so that we will all be there on time.
I also have set aside back up dates which both actors know about, in case a problem occurs such as someone taken ill or due to weather circumstances. I have also imformed and agreed on back up dates with the actors. The back up dates are; Sunday 30th October, Wednesday 2nd November and Thursday 3rd November. The actors also have these dates on their copy of the call sheet with these dates included.

Fonts research
Apple Chancery font
Bickham Script pro font
Edwardian Script ITC font
Handwriting- Dakota font
Mistral font
Savoye LET plain font
Snell Roundhand font
Zapfino font
Here I have researched into possible fonts I could use for my teaser trailer. I have produced these on Live Type as this will be the programme I will be using to produce the text and titles to my teaser trailer. All the fonts I have chosen within these images are fairly similar. I have chosen fonts that I think look like they would relate to a Romantic genre film. I found out from my previous research that most fonts have been kept fairly simple, which makes them stand out without having to be overly bold and dramatic.
I think that all these fonts have pros and cons to them. All look like they could fit within my teaser trailer, although I feel some are too bold and dramatic looking, such as the 'Mistral font,' 'Apple Chancery font' and 'Bickham Script pro font.' I personally think that there could be a couple of these fonts that could work really well within my teaser trailer and think that the best way to choose would be to ask my target audience as this will help me choose the font that will be best. I think that a font such as 'Zapfino font' could work very well as it is fairly simplistic but has an italic and slight curled look about it which would have the romantic genre look but also a simplicity about it.
Another font I personally think could work really well is the 'Savoye LET plain font.' It has just the right amount of boldness about it which helps it to stand out but it doesn't look too dramatic which means it wouldn't take away from the rest of the poster or my teaser trailer.

T.A feedback on names
I decided to get some target audience feedback on the name choices I have come up with as I think it is best that I ask a group of people who will be in the age group that my teaser trailer is aimed at.
This chart show which name my audience thought was best. The majoirty of people said they preffered 'Dear Diary' compared to the other names I had thought of. From this feedback I have decided to use 'Dear Diary' which is also the name I most liked and I think it will work well.
This is the second chart that shows some feedback from my target audience. I was to see if they thought the name worked well with the narrative of my teaser trailer and wasn't just too ironic or stereotypical. However the majority of the people I asked said they thought it worked well.

Name Ideas
So far I have come up with a few name ideas for my teaser trailer which I will later get my target audience to choose the name that they like the most. I have decided to keep the names simple and relative to my movie as this is a typical convention that I have noticed for most of the romantic genre films I have looked into.
The names I have come up with are listed below:
-The Diary
-Dear Diary
-The Secret
-Diaries

Typography research
The typography that will be included within my teaser trailer and also on the poster will be a very important factor as it needs to show that it is a representation of the romantic genre. Below I have chosen several font styles that I think have pros and cons to them.

These first two fonts come from the trailer for the film The Vow. The first thing that I noticed about these fonts were the colour and the style of the font. The colour has been contrasted so that it is both black and white, which I think works well and is more noticeable to the audience's eye in comparison to just one of the colours.
The style of the font is very simplistic, with all the letters in capitals and also there is a fair amount of space between each of the individual letters, especially within the first image.
I think a simple font like this one would work really well as it has a small and stylish feel about it, compared to being a heavy dramatic font, which therefore works well with the romantic genre. If there is one thing I would personally change about the screenshot, is the white and the black colour needing to have a more softer feeler and toning the background colour down to fit in with the titles clearer, in order for the writing to be the main feature. This is a factor I will need to remember within my own work and also something which I will experiment with.
This is another very simplistic font that has been used. I think a simple font would work better as it still grabs the attention of the audience and it has a softer feel than something which is very big and bold. The font within this trailer has been centralised and is therefore the main aspect. Again it has used a fairly dark colour, which I think for a romantic genre it needs to be either a more subtle 'happy' colour or it needs to be more bold and a darker/ more noticeable colour to add to the emotions and the dramatic side to the genre.
This is the film poster for The Notebook. I particularly like the typography of the name within this poster as I feel it has more of a symbolic look about it; when the audience thinks of the name 'The Notebook' the audience assumes it will have a literal notebook in the film, which I feel the font represents that kind of look for a notebook, diary or a letter.
I again like the simplistic font as it is immediately noticeable for the audience and it stands out within the poster.
Similarly to the other posters and screenshots, the font is again simplistic but it works along with the rest of the film poster. The colour works really well as it stands out on the background and is one of the main things the audience notices along with the photo.
I like the layout of this poster and how it appears as if there are two halves, the half with the picture and the other half with the writing and title. The layout of the actual title is different to most as usually the title is all on the same line, however this one is separated onto three lines which could link to the title and narrative through the 'time.'
The font for this poster is idyllic and suits the genre of the film. The font is simplistic but works well with the rest of the poster and links to the genre. I like that the font is the central aspect of this poster making the name just as important by being a main feature, as well as the cast and characters at the top and bottom. Although the typography is quite big and bold compared to the characters who seem to have had a filter used to soften the colours, the title and typography fits in within the whole outcome of the poster. Personally I think that a softer colour within the typography would have taken away from the soft, toned down look of the characters.

Target Audience
The target audience for my teaser trailer will mainly be females, teens and young adults as I have chosen a romantic genre which appeals to majority of females. One of the conventions of a romantic film I found through my research is that the women are usually more dominant and that there is an obvious love story present throughout the film and the audience usually knows what is going to happen. From this I was able to work out that the target audience would be mainly females as the genre relates to them.

Health and Safety
When filming I need to remember the health and safety, not only of myself but of the cast as well. The main health and safety factors are making sure that the area we are working in is clear and so there are no trip hazzards. Another element is making sure that there are no sharp objects left laying around.

Storyboard
Below is my storyboard which I drew up on paper and then scanned in so I could add them onto my blog. I am arranging days and times when my actors are available so that I can start filming my footage and hopefully when put together my idea will work.

Development of idea
After discussing with my peers the idea of my teaser trailer, I decided to go along with idea 2, however I felt that the concept of it was a big idea and was something that was getting complicated and a big idea to achieve, considering I only have a small budget and my teaser trailer will be something that is more iconic of a independent film rather than a mainstream Hollywood production.
I have decided to keep the object of a diary as my inspiration and play around with the diary being the main focus. The narrative of my idea is a girl has kept her diary her whole life. She keeps seeing a guy around that she is slowly falling for and as she's getting older she starts writing diary entries about the guy and how she likes him. Usually the guy doesn't acknowledge her and often just walks past her without even looking at her. The girl is out one day, taking a walk around her village and she sees the guy out in the distance, where she hopes she can talk to him, but again he just walks past without acknowledging her. While out on her walk she sits down to write another entry, however she soon sees that some of her entries have been ripped out. When she later returns home she sees that there is a letter waiting for her with some of the missing entries in with a note taunting her that someone knows her secrets. She also sees that there are quotes from her diary entries being posted online and the next day sees that they have been posted up at school. The girl feels humiliated as the guy she has started to fall for has also read the diary entries. Upset she runs back home, where later in the day, the guy turns up at her house, where he admits that he likes her too and they both end up spending the rest of the day together and they eventually end up being happy together.
My teaser trailer will only be short and therefore I need to break down my idea into smaller bits, so that its easier to portray the story within my teaser trailer without including all of the above. Below I have broken down my idea to show the bits that will be used within my trailer:
-Shots of the diary, will closely look at some of the pages and what she has written
-The girl writing in the diary
-Girl out at in her village, where she sees the guy she likes, but the guy doesn't acknowledge her
-Writing in her diary about the guy she's just seen and noticing pages have been ripped out of her diary
-Girl returning home to the letter of some of the diary pages with the note
-Shot of girl at school with quotes of her diary posted up on the walls with the guy reading them
-Girl returning home humiliated and upset
I think that although the points I have listed seem fairly simple, I think that the way in which they will be put together will work well and also with having titles up within my teaser trailer will help to get the narrative of my trailer across the viewer.
